The people I love

Brent: Brent has amazing strenth to look past the negative and find the positive. He loves me and even when I’m fat and have no makeup on he still loves me. He has had the weight of the world on his shoulders and has carried it without bending. We’ve been married 13 years and I miss the way it used to be but kids, illness and life has gotten in the way. I wish there was a way to move all that aside. He’s my partner and 1/2 of what I am.

Destiny: Destiny is fun to be around. I wish I could be around her more. She is funny and even thought it’s probably not true I like to think her sense of humor comes from my side of the family. She’s very eclectic and she knows what she likes and doesnt like. She is Cate’s mommy and that in itself makes me very proud of her but even without that she is very strong. I wish so much that we were closer.

Emily: Lets see…Well I love Emily no matter what. She’s fiesty and she can be very aggravating at times and she loves to argue but I still love her. If she only knew how much she is like me at that age she would probaby not be so quick to be so fiesty and aggravating. Lord knows she doesnt want to be like me. Unfortunely she has my looks and she’s beautiful. When Emily and I are alone, we talk and we talk and we are on the same plane. We understand each other. We have a lot in common. I just love her to death. She has been through a lot and has come out the other side and for that I’m so proud of her. As with Destiny, I wish we were closer. I miss both those girls as they have gone on with their lives.

Jackson: Jackson is my light and my heart. He’s just a little boy who loves lots of things. First he loves Karate. He’s good too. He’s not sure what he wants to be when he grows up but what ever it is, he’ll make it count. He has a great sense of humor which only a few people get to see. He’s always been a serious child to the outside world but to his dad and me, he’s hillarious. Did I mention he’s adorable? Well I should say handsome now since he’s reached “that age”. He’s still not interested in girls yet but they sure do love him. They just swoon over him at the Karate studio. Jackson and I have a special bond. He’s very protective and I love him for that but I’m trying to get him to realize that Mom can manage things on her own. He has a ball with his Dad. They play and wrestle, laugh, scream. My house is always hopping. I love him being here. I dont like it when he’s in school. I miss him. I love summer vacation. I just love that boy to the MAX!

Dorothy: Dorothy puts up with me on a daily basis. I always have something to report to her so she listens intently, we laugh and joke. We’ve been together since 7th grade. She knows me and I know her. We dont judge each other. I can tell her anything and she can talk to me about anything..and we have.

I wish my parents were here to enjoy their grandchildren and great grandchildren. They would adore little Cate just as much as I do. I also miss my brother who is in Austin. We talk when we can but it’s not the same. I haven’t seen him since Jackson was 2, he’s 11 now. We would have so much fun if he would come up.

Did I show you guys…?

Jackson’s last video of his board breaks and sword routine? Here is the link….

They were putting on a demo for their black belt academy’s Open House.
It’s a rainy day here so will be having Jackson help me with laundry and dusting. My Golden Retriever ROMEO… chewed up my halloween decorations and some of my Christmas stuff in the basement. I dont know where to start so that will be my weekend. ***WHAAA**

I may be back later. We’ll see what’s up today. No Karate tonight.

Thank you to Kay

A fantastic morning!!!

We had a fantastic morning as we had our tour of KMBC Channel 9. Lisa met us at the front door and we toured the entire station, meeting everyone as we went. She was so sweet to introduce us to everyone. Jackson got to do the weather with Joel and it was so cute with him being in front of the green screen pointing and the clouds   I was so proud of him. Lisa said she would try and get me a little copy of that tape. I know Nana and Papa and big sisters will want to see him. It will be strange today if anyone says anything about it if we go anywhere. I have to laugh everytime I think about it because he had no idea what he was pointing at. Joel was so sweet to him though and made him feel like he was King of the weather! I finally got to meet Donna Pitman, Donna and I have emailed and talked on the phone several times but never really got together. She’s adorable…a little tiny thing! I have to tell you though that Lisa is so pretty. She’s much taller than I thought she’d be, even though she did have heels on but she’s strikingly beautiful. As I said we got to meet all the anchors and wow, they are so nice! You should see how many Emmy’s this station has! They’re everywhere in glass cases, sitting around. Lisa gave a fantastic tour, she didn’t leave anything out. We went from the first floor to the second and visited every control room there was. And the ladies room even has a TV in there!!! Remind me next time we remodel to have a plasma installed in the bathroom.  That WOULD be cool. Well we talked about it all the way home, I turned around and Jackson was sound asleep. He’s not used to getting up so early with summer break see….He was all quiet while we were meeting folks but now he’s talking talking talking and I told him to write all this down in his journal so he wont forget. One thing he did tell me he forgot was his autograph book. He was going to get all the autographs of the news anchors and he forgot to bring it. I told him you can’t remember everything. I brought my camera and forgot to take pictures!!!!!! :???: Well, that’s us, the Bakers. I would have had a great photo album but I just plum forgot. Anyway we had tons of fun and it was all thanks to Lisa. I hope she reads this because she’s a great person and we’re blessed to know her!!! Talk to you later!

Rainy Days

Well it’s a drippy day today. Jackson and Brent got the tomato plants in a while back plus they planted pumpkins just to see what they would do. We still have some tiny pumpkins to plant but not today, the lightening is close so they can do it later. Tomorrow we have our tour at Channel 9 and get to meet Lisa Teachman. She invited us and we are so excited. I have no idea what to wear. Do I dress up? Do I dress casual? I always have trouble figuring this out. I can dress Brent and Jackson to the 9′s but me…I get lost in the shuffle. I’ll find something. Heaven knows I have plenty of “stuff” up in that closet. Some of my jackets I gave to Emily which is ok but I hate wearing stuff without a jacket. I’ll find something. I want to make a good impression. Jackson will wear his suit pants and a nice shirt, Brent the same. It will be fun. Ok, time to get up and find something to do. Jackson’s still asleep so need to pick up the living room and load the dishwasher….WAIT! I hear Brent loading it..*sigh*, thank Goodness.
